EB-5 petitioners may differ in many respects, but they all share the same basic goals when they decide to make an investment: 1) They want to obtain permanent green cards for themselves and their eligible family members, and 2) they want their investment capital preserved and returned as soon as allowed by USCIS rules. Although these petitioners share the same goals, they all differ in following compliance requirements such as EB-5 due diligence.
Due diligence is an investigation of an investment prior to signing a contract. It contributes significantly to informed decision-making. EB-5 due diligence enables investors to better understand the terms of the deal and the risks involved.
