IIUSA hosted another highly successful EB-5 Advocacy Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 7-9. Based on the number of attendees and sponsors at the event, it is clear that the industry continues to grow rapidly.

The conference began with committee meetings, including the sold out New Members Luncheon on Wednesday afternoon. Due to the growth of the EB-5 program, four new directors have been added to the IIUSA board, including our very own Jill Jones. As the Senior Attorney and EB-5 Counsel for NES Financial, Jill brings an informative and experienced perspective to the Board.

As the market leader in escrow and fund administration services, NES Financial has had the opportunity to work on more projects ranging in size and industry, than any other service provider on the market.

Throughout the event, the NES Financial booth was frequented by clients, partners, and new faces who wanted to learn more about the newest EB-5 solution added to our leading suite earlier this year – EB-5 Immigration Workflow. Awareness of the value our solutions provide continues to extend beyond Regional Centers and developers to the investors themselves. Several members of the Chinese delegation stopped by our booth to learn more.

Two encouraging signs from the Conference were the continued evidence that the market is embracing compliance standards and the positive attention EB-5 is getting as an important contributor to economic recovery and job creation. Indicators of a highly popular program were the presence of a number of Washington powerhouses who came to speak to the industry association. These included United States Senator Patrick Leahy, members of Congress Zoe Lofgren and Aaron Schock, Associate Director for the SEC’s Division of Enforcement Steve Cohen, FINRA Authority Kavita Jain, U.S. Visa Controls Office Chief Charles Oppenheim, and the new USCIS Immigrant Investor Program Office Director Nicholas Colucci.

As has become tradition, NES Financial hosted a cocktail reception for over 150 of its clients and partners at Charlie Palmer Steak on Thursday night, providing an opportunity for great networking and conversation.

Overall, the event was a huge success, and we are looking forward to the 4thAnnual EB-5 International Investment and Economic Development Forum, October 22-24 in San Francisco, California.
