It’s been a little over three years since the Opportunity Zones initiative was created under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in December of 2017.
A lot has happened since its inception, so we recently sat down with Reid Thomas, who is JTC Americas’ Chief Revenue Officer and Managing Director, and Coleen Danaher, who is JTC Americas’ Regional VP, to discuss the current state of Opportunity Zones, the important role JTC Americas, Formerly NES Financial, plays in the industry, as well as the importance of measuring and tracking impact.
“We’re seeing a lot of great things happen in the Opportunity Zones space,” shared Reid. “In particular, we’re seeing a mixture of different kinds of initiatives that are encompassing both real estate as well as operating businesses. We’re seeing initiatives and investments going on in all parts of the country now, and the amount of the investments have been continuing to accelerate.”
Reid and Coleen, will also discuss this and more on expert panels at the Novogradac Spring Opportunity Zones Virtual Conference taking place from Thursday, April 22nd to Friday, April 23rd.
