On February 10, 2016, Representatives Jared Polis (D-CO) and Mark Amodei (R-NV) introduced H.R. 4530, or the EB-5 Integrity Act of 2016, a new bipartisan bill to reform the EB-5 program.

The bill’s proposals mirror those of S.2415, the EB-5 Integrity Act of 2015, introduced by Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) at the end of last year, and continue to focus on program integrity, increases to reporting and compliance requirements, and USCIS oversight of the program.

The bill was introduced the same day as a House Judiciary Committee hearing to assess the effectiveness of the EB-5 Regional Center program, indicating a continued focus on EB-5 in Congress.

Over the last year, a great deal of legislative attention has been paid to EB-5; however, a final reform bill has not yet been passed.
